Ms. Goldstein believes that the best defense is a passionate and well-prepared defense. She has earned a reputation among judges, prosecutors, and the defense community, as a fierce advocate for her clients as well as an intelligent, unrelenting, and compassionate attorney. She is well-known for her dedication to fighting sex crimes cases in both state and federal court, including charges of rape, child molestation, and child pornography.
She has been practicing exclusively criminal defense in both state and federal court since 2003. Ms. Goldstein obtained her Juris Doctorate from Georgetown University Law Center where she graduated cum laude. She received her Bachelor of Arts from Georgetown University where she graduated magna cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa.
Ms. Goldstein has presented as an expert in sex crimes defense to fellow criminal defense attorneys as well as at the Fiddler Institute of Criminal Justice at Loyola Law School. Additionally, she has been selected by Super Lawyers as a Rising Star for 2012, 2013, 2014, and 2015. She has also received the highest “AV Preeminent Rating” from Lexis-Nexis Martindale-Hubbell and has also been selected by the National Trial Lawyers Association in Criminal Defense as a ”Top 40 under 40” Criminal Defense Lawyer for 2014 and 2015.
Ms. Goldstein fights passionately for her client's rights because she knows the criminal justice system is simply unjust. She has chosen to focus her practice exclusively in criminal defense, and specifically in sex-related crimes, to try to combat the all-pervasive abuses and injustices in the criminal justice system, particularly towards clients accused of serious sex crimes. She comes from four generations of lawyers in her family and continues on a legacy of fighting to win each and every case.
Ms. Goldstein is a member of the State Bar of California and the Bar Association of the District of Columbia. She is a member of the state indigent defense panel as well as a member of the federal indigent defense panel (Criminal Justice Act or CJA panel). She has been admitted to practice before the Supreme Court of California, as well as the United States District Courts for the Central, Northern, Southern, and Eastern Districts of California.
Ms. Goldstein speaks, reads, and writes French fluently and is conversational in Spanish.
